Dr. Santorino Data, is a visionary country manager of CAMTech Uganda, a distinguished pediatrician and lecturer at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). Dr. Data stands at the forefront of innovation at MUST, pioneering groundbreaking initiatives like the Augmented Infant Air Resuscitator. His unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of healthcare technology gave rise to the CAMTech Uganda Robotics program, aimed at empowering budding innovators with hands-on skills in Engineering and Technology. Dr. Data’s passion for advancing healthcare technology and nurturing young talent is truly inspiring, setting the stage for a future where innovation thrives and lives are transformed.

Ms.Nambogo Nuriat

Position: Research & Grants Manager

Nuriat holds a Master’s Degree in Management Studies, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management (DPPM), a Bachelors  Degree in Development Studies and a Certificate in Mastering Design Thinking from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She is currently working as the Research and Grants Manager for the Consortium for Affordable Medical Technologies Uganda (CAMTech Uganda)  at Mbarara University of Science and Technology where she heads the Innovation Support Office(ISO) and Coordinates the CAMTech Uganda Program. In her position, Nuriat mentors and teaches innovator teams research and grants aspects with an output of high-quality concepts and proposals, manages the see grant award process, among other responsibilities. She is a passionate innovator, a Co-Founder and CEO of MobiCare Uganda: a mobile-based application that links patients/caretakers to medical specialists to enable the request and scheduling of appointments. Nuriat has served as a member of the Innovations Select Board for the National ICT Initiatives Support Program (NIISP) under the Uganda Ministry of Information Communication Technology and National Guidance (MoICT & NG). She has served as a mentor, reviewer, and judge at different innovation-related competitions both at the national and international levels. She is happy to work in an environment that supports innovations as she practically contributes towards their mentorship.

Mr. Mukama Martin

Position: Innovations Manager

Martin is a Computer Engineering graduate specializing in Data Communications Engineering. He holds a Master of Science in Health Informatics from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, along with certifications from MIT and PMD Pro 1, highlighting his project management skills. Passionate about enhancing health in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) in Africa, Martin developed PRISMS, a MedTech innovation aimed at reducing neonatal mortality in Uganda and beyond. With over a decade of experience in software development and health innovation, his focus is on leveraging technology to improve newborn health outcomes across LMICs, driving significant health improvements throughout the continent.

Mr. Tuhirirwe Mackenzie

Position: Ass. Innovations Manager

A versatile professional, merges expertise in materials engineering and computer engineering with a deep grasp of design thinking principles. Holding a Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering, and a Mastering Design Thinking certificate from MIT, Mackenzie possesses a holistic skill set for innovative problem-solving. With over 8 years of experience in product development, embedded systems design, and programming, he currently serves as the Assistant Innovations Manager at CAMTech Uganda – Mbarara University of Science and Technology, leading initiatives tackling critical healthcare challenges. Mackenzie utilizes his interdisciplinary background to drive impactful innovation in this role.

Mr. Ilemut Ivan

Position: Robotics Coordinator

With a Bachelor’s in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Mbarara University of Science and Technology, Ivan brings a wealth of knowledge to his position as the Robotics Coordinator at CAMTech Uganda. With over three years of experience in Engineering and Technology Education, Ivan is deeply committed to nurturing young minds in STEM fields. As a volunteer with IEEE TryEngineering, he actively promotes STEM among pre-university and university students. Ivan’s particular focus lies in Embedded Systems and their integration with IoT, reflecting his dedication to advancing technology education and innovation.

Mr. Bosco Turyamureba

Position: Impact Manager

Bosco serves as the Impact Manager at CAMTech Uganda, where he plays a pivotal role in monitoring and evaluating the organization’s initiatives. With expertise as a monitoring and evaluation specialist, Bosco ensures that CAMTech Uganda’s projects are effectively tracked, assessed, and optimized for maximum impact. His keen analytical skills and attention to detail enable him to develop comprehensive monitoring frameworks, gather and analyze data, and provide valuable insights for program improvement. Bosco’s dedication to driving positive change through evidence-based practices makes him a valuable asset to CAMTech Uganda, contributing to the organization’s mission of fostering innovation and improving healthcare outcomes in Uganda and beyond.

Ms. Ashaba Sharon

Position: Marketing & Comms Lead

Ashaba Sharon holds a Bachelors degree in procurement and Supply Chain Management. In her role as the Marketing and communications lead at CAMTech Uganda, Sharon greatly contributed to the vibrant digital presence and Visibility of CAMTech Uganda horning her experience in didtal Marketing, content creation and management.

Position: Administrative Assistant

Sabina plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of day-to-day operations at CAMTech Uganda. With a certificate and a diploma in Secretarial Studies from Nyamitanga Business and Secretarial Studies Institute, she brings a wealth of administrative skills to her position. Sabina offers key administrative support to the Research and Grants Manager, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of projects and initiatives. Her dedication and expertise are instrumental in driving the ongoing success of CAMTech Uganda.
